Join other umpires from New York State and beyond seeking to improve their skills and knowledge at the seventh NY Baseball Umpire Clinic. A staff of professional umpires, including Major League Baseball umpires, will offer training and insight on how to improve your ability, regardless at what level you currently work.

Registration Fee: $135.00 (tentative as of 6/10/2019) includes Friday night meet & greet, autographed photos, clinic, lunch.

Friday – Social Event

What: Meet the staff, get autographed photos, enjoy complimentary light refreshments, get acquainted and ask questions in a social atmosphere. This is included as part of your registration fee. Dress is casual.

Saturday – Clinic

Location: The Greater Binghamton Sports Complex, 1500 Airport Road, Binghamton, NY 13905

What: Areas of instruction include plate work, base work in 2 and 3-umpire system, and game management techniques

Tentative Agenda:

  • Registration: 7:45AM-8:25AM
  • Clinic Begins/Welcome: 8:30AM
  • Morning Session: 8:45AM – 12:00PM
  • Lunch (provided): 12:15PM – 1:00PM
  • Afternoon Session: 1:15PM – 4:00PM
  • Auction: 4:15PM – 4:45PM
  • Wrap Up & Close of Clinic: 4:45PM – 5:00PM

Auction:

The auction is an exciting ending to a full day of training. Through the generosity of our instructors, we will have a variety of professional umpire related items to auction off. Not only is this an opportunity to take home something special from the 2019 clinic, but the proceeds go to support clinic activities. 100% of the proceeds go to support this program. Please bring check or cash for auction items. It is a great way to get an item of Major League proportion and help to sustain this umpire improvement initiative.

Attire:

If you are a NYSBUA member, please wear your NYSBUA uniform. If you are not affiliated with NYSBUA, a base umpire uniform or comfortable clothing is acceptable. It is typically cold in the Dome. Wear layers and your jacket. In the off chance of unseasonably warm weather, please pack a base shirt. Changing rooms are available on site. If you do not have or choose not to wear a uniform, you are welcome to dress in athletic attire. Hat is required.

What to Bring:

  • Mask and plate hat for plate work. If you wish to bring your complete plate gear, you are welcome to do so but it is not required.
  • Cash or check for the auction items.
