Endicott Umpires Sponsor Second Annual Senior Baseball and Softball Showcase
The Endicott Umpire Chapter sponsored the Second Annual Phil Fox Memorial Senior Showcase on June 11, 2018. The baseball and softball games were held at Union Endicott High School. The showcase featured eighteen different schools, filled with local baseball and softball star seniors. The athletes competed in a red and blue game, a fun and competitive way to end the season off on a good note.
Money raised in conjunction with this showcase is used to fund 2 annual scholarships, one baseball and one softball. Details about the scholarship program can be found here.
The Showcase is named in memory of former chapter member Phil Fox who passed away in 2015. His work ethic as an umpire and sense of fun and fair play are the characteristics we seek to instill in the participants.
James Fox, son of Phil, said, “Thank you so much! We had a great time last night, and I know my Dad is smiling down. Another year and another great event! ”
